I know, it’s a cliche, but I’m going to ask anyway. If you were trapped on a desert island and could only bring one game, which game would it be? Obviously this is a special kind of desert island that also has electricity and internet connection, I suppose, but the idea still stands. One game, only that game, for the rest of your life.
I struggle with this one. On the one hand, I think I’d bring Civilization V. The days seems to disappear when I play it – I turn it on for a quick game in the morning and the next thing I know it’s dinner time. I’ve clocked hundreds of hours in it and still haven’t nabbed all the achievements. So maybe some quality gaming time on my unique desert island could do the trick.
But then there are story-driven games with a myriad options that could also do the trick. Imagine going with the Mass Effect trilogy? Maybe then I could finally play as a pure renegade. Or at least bring myself to eventually play in ways that don’t show my undying love for the Krogans.
Or maybe, if there is high speed internet on this island, I could just play multiplayer games all day. Why stick to single player when I could get so incredibly good at Call of Duty, or Titanfall, or Helldivers by playing all day. I still haven’t tried out Overwatch, but from the way the guys go on and on about it, that might keep me going for a very long time without getting bored.
This isn’t a question of what game is your favourite, but rather which game do you think you could play over and over again for the foreseeable future? You know, when not foraging for your survival on this bizarrely connected and yet remote desert island.
