Alice made her debut gameplay appearance at GDC this year, and a two-part video is up. American McGee’s sequel to 2000’s original Alice will see the titular character returning to a twisted Wonderland, using all sorts of weapons to survive and to set things right.
Judging by the gameplay here (filmed off a stand at GDC, but still very clear) Alice will have a number of new weapons at her disposal, as well as new abilities like being able to dodge an incoming attack by transforming into a swarm of butterflies. There’s all manner of familiar Card Soldier enemies, as well as some creepy new things that look like floating jellyfish babies covered in oil. Who knew BP’s Gulf of Mexico spill had reached as far as Wonderland?
The game is being published by EA and comes out on 14 June 2011 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
