First shots from new Bond tie-in game

Ever since Activision bought the Bond license from EA, a lot of people have been waiting to see what exactly they’ll do with the franchise. The recent forays into Bond-based games have been lacklustre, to say the least.

However, EA handed the development off to TreyArch, who are currently finishing the game to tie in with the new film being released at the end of the year, Quantum of Solace. However, this game will cover the events of Casino Royale as well, since there was no tie-in (cash-in?) released for it. Interestingly enough, it’ll feature the Call of Duty 4 engine, so at least it will be technically proficient.

Looks like the Bond franchise it trying for a comeback on all fronts. In addition to the film and game, there was even a new novel named Devil May Care launched in May as a celebration of the centenary of Ian Fleming’s birth in 1908. For those not familiar with the Bond franchise, Fleming is the creator of the fictional super-spy.
