Can Gears become the next big Xbox IP, replacing Master Chief at the top of the pile.
Honestly I feel that Marcus is easier to ‘get’ than Master Chief and would be better suited as the lead figurine but I just don’t see the mainstream press going for it.
Could you imagine Marcus walking into the mall revving a chainsaw to drop of the latest box of Gears boxes?
Anyway an analyst of sorts over at Xboxoz360 has put together his reasonings as to why Gears is going to outsell Halo 3 this holiday season and I have to say it’s hard to disagree with him. Already the hype around Gears is building and we still have months and months to go.
I know Halo 3 died a quick death with me and if Epic can pull of the “Bigger, Better and more Badass” idea then I can see no reason why Gears won’t kurb stomp Master Chief come Christmas.

10 mil? Maybe. It’s a better game, but it’s deservedly rated M where the Halo trilogy was always family friendly.

Ya, age restrictions limit sales big time. But at the end of the day you know that it all depends on how you market it. And if Microsoft wants to market the crap out of this game, they will and it will probably lead to huge sales.
