Genshin Impact, that chuffing good action-RPG with a surprising amount of content, is getting more content. Surprising! Genshin Impact’s 1.4 update, Invitation of Windblume, arrives on March 17 and amongst its offerings is new four-star playable character Rosaria, shiny four-star weapon the Windblume Ode, and a chance to go on a date with your favourite in-game waifus. Just as Odin intended.
“In version 1.4, we’ll be adding Rosaria ‘Thorny Benevolence’ as a new four-star playable character,” wrote miHoYo’s technical director, Zhenzhong Yi, on the PlayStation Blog.
Rosaria is a sister of the Church of Favonius who players may have already encountered during their adventures with Albedo in Dragonspine. Bearing a Cryo Vision, Rosaria is a powerful polearm wielder with an Elemental Skill that allows her to instantly shift behind her enemy, piercing and slashing them to deal Cryo damage.
Her Elemental Burst allows her to attack with a mighty slash, causing massive Cryo damage and summoning a frigid Ice Lance that deals continuous Cryo damage to nearby enemies.
Here’s the fun part. If you’re at Adventure Rank 20 or above and you’ve have completed the Archon Quest Song of the Dragon and Freedom, you’ll be invited to “join the cordial celebration of the Windblume Festival,” which has its own number of rewards for players to earn. You’ll also be able to spend some one-on-one time with several Genshin Impact characters, which I genuinely hope won’t cause a rift between myself and my anime body pillow harem.
“Players will even have a very special chance to spend time hanging out with Barbara, Noelle, Bennett, and Chongyun, with the possibility of experiencing different endings and memories depending on your choices and interactions with each character,” Yi teased. Other than that, expect the usual round of adjustments and optimizations, the ability to hold up to five Condensed Resin in your Inventory, and the option to lower their World Level in case you want an easier time while out adventuring.
If you haven’t tried the game out yet, you can grab Genshin Impact on iOS and Android mobile devices, PC, PS4, and PS5 via good ol’ backward compatibility.
