Last week I told you how The Sims 2 was losing support from EA, but that everyone who owned a copy of The Sims 2 would get upgraded to the Ultimate Collection. Well, now EA is sweetening the deal, just in time to get you excited for The Sims 4.
You know how EA has been giving us games for free lately? We got Plants vs Zombies and then Battlefield 3. Well, now The Sims 2 is the latest way EA is showing goodwill. All you need to do is open up Origin or head on over to the Origin code redemption page and enter I-LOVE-THE-SIMS in the ‘Product Code’ field. Don’t worry, you should be able to copy and paste that code in and save yourself from admitting in code that you actually do love The Sims. The code is only available until the 31st of July 2014, so you have until the end of the month to grab this classic for free.
The Sims 4 is launching in September and this seems like a smart move from EA to get people excited for the new game. The jump from The Sims to The Sims 2 was massive and made the game even more popular than it already was. Now, The Sims 4 has promised another big leap. I’m still unimpressed with the ridiculous program of expansions and “stuff packs” that EA uses for The Sims, but people seem willing to buy them. Don’t worry, we already have devious plans for our Sims 4 review – I may be inclined to not just create the lazygamer crew in Sim form, but also some community members. Just imagine how horrifying our neighbourhood would be.

It’s a good move from EA. Show they’re willing to part with money after all.
From an old game.
With no support.
That’s ten years old.

Off topic, Chuck Palahniuk is contemplating a sequel to a certain novel

Interesting.
I wonder if it might involve mayhem, seeing as how the book ended with an open world of possibilities (different to the movie’s closed ending)

Agreed.
One thing though…did you also feel the sims in Sims 3 looked a bit…uhm…inflated. No matter what you did?

Could be a new form of entertainment. Who burns down the kitchen first. Odds are it will be Darryn but hell you never know if Zoe might just stumble in first place.

I expect you leave for a while, then come back & it’s just blood & body parts everywhere… and Sandy having a cup of tea. It’s always the quiet ones.

Hey, we don’t do that.
What evidence do you have that they didn’t just walk through the walls… and into your closet… where they choked themselves.

Choked to death by themselves in a closet? Impossible.

I have a feeling Geoff will be the sim standing in the corner, yelling, crying and pointing, without doing anything.
