Go behind the scenes with Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Sam fisher's a washed-out twat.

I actually really liked Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, even though in truth it’s little more than a paid demo. Thing is, despite its brevity it was quite a bit of fun, and it was gorgeous to boot. On the PlayStation 4, it’s quite a thing to behold, and is easily the best looking semi open world available right now. Konami’s released a video showing how they made it look so good.

Here’s video showing how the performance capture was done, and how they’re leveraging the Fox engine to provide stunning visuals. And at just over 3 minutes long, it’s about as long as the actual game. Take a look.

The Phantom Pain – you know, the actual game that Ground Zeroes is a prologue for – is coming some time in 2015, and if Ground Zeroes is anything to go by, will be well worth playing. Ground Zeroes is available right now as a budget title, and offers you a couple of hours within Cam Omega’s sandbox. It’s good, but I’m not sure it’s worth the asking price.

I still think this was supposed to be a demo of MGSV but they changed their minds and they slapped on a price and packaged it as a game. Really disappointed. Will buy the new one though.

They were actually originally going to be released as one whole game, as stated by Kojima himself.
