Gorgeous new Witcher 3 screens emerge

Igromir isn’t the name of an awesome new weapon or minion – it’s an expo in Russia that sounds like our rAge but bigger and cooler. I’m glad that more countries are getting cool expos, although Igromir competes with rAge for loving and generally wins. Still, here are some awesome screens to come out of the expo.

Before I show you how gorgeous this game is looking, I’d like to point out that The Witcher 3 is more than just a pretty face. We often talk about how insane the graphics are for the Witcher 3 – we use it as a benchmark of when it’s time to upgrade our PCs so that we can experience it in all its glory. However, let’s please take a moment to acknowledge that the game also includes some deep storytelling, complex combat and intelligent AI. Okay, enough about the brains, let’s just ogle these pretty screens.

I’m sure The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on most of your wish lists, or pre-ordered already. It’s a massive, open-world RPG that will probably define this generation of gaming. Plus, you can get it on just about any platform – it will be coming to the new consoles, as well as on PC. Even on PC there are multiple options; for those who want to play with chat mechanisms and whatnot, you can grab it on Steam. Or, if you like discounts and love and hate DRM, you can also get it on GoG.com. Or you could just order that gorgeous Collector’s Edition with the statue and extras. Geez that thing is impressive.

It IS! Comparatively speaking, and not mentioning what it’s being compared to.

There has been a little shit storm about these pics. People are saying that the pics don’t give that wow factor. The pics shows the game in a bad light when compared to other pics and trailers.

I don’t think these pics show off the end result of the game. We mustn’t forget that The Witcher 3 will only be a game. Don’t over hype the game in your head and expect way too much. The Witcher 3 is an open world game and let’s not forget how open world games look like.

We have seen the 35 minute demo and the 5 minute Xbox One gameplay. So we have an idea about how the game will look like.
The Witcher 3 is a process from start to finish and us Witcher fans will eat up anything that’s Witcher. These pics might be from an earlier stage in development. Some people expect that whatever is shown = finished build of the game. Let’s not forget what The Witcher 2 looked like before release and how amazing the released copy looked.

The PC version of The Witcher 3 will look amazing. It will be interesting to see how the PS4 version looks like. If you planning on getting the Xbox One version then you just hate The Witcher 3.

Support Non DRM games. The Witcher 3 is coming. It is really important to support a AAA non DRM game at launch to send a message to the gaming industry, even if the game doesn’t interest you. So get everyone you know who plays games to buy The Witcher 3 on launch day.

So over at Neogaf’s forum there is a guy who claims to have inside info concerning CD Projekt RED:

“it looks like many gaffers are painting CDP as some magical dev studio
with only the best of interests of the gamers in mind. Trust me they are
not. The bullshitting with the Witcher 3 started from day 1. PR is
creating an overblown vision of a game that doesn’t exist while the team
is in crazy crunch time for over a year now. There’s some bad shit
going on that if GAF knew GAF would not like.”
“Well in the end it’s my words vs CDP PR. I mean why should You belive my
if I have no solid evidence to show? But that’s kind of my point, CDP
build a very good realationship with gamers and now it’s paying off as
oppose to say EA. I do have inside knowledge, I did have contact with
the game but again NDA and such plus I’m just a dude on the internet. my
only point is that GAF should take everything CDP says with a grain of
    salt.

EDIT: Just to some up my messy line of thinking – don’t preorder tha
game (especially on consols) wait for the reviews, then decide or don’t
pay attention to a random dude on the internet and do what you want
    with your money.”

The guy has been vetted by Neogaf. Don’t know what that means.

Open world sand box type games can get tricky on consoles. Just look at how Watch Dogs came out. It will be interesting to see how The Witcher 3 will look and play on consoles. But PC is where you have to play the game to get the best out of it.
