Halo Back on top of the Xbox Live Pile

Halo tops the pile

Halo 3 is this generations game that everyone loves to hate but what you just cannot deny is that it has huge appeal.

We are racing up on it’s first year birthday and it has once again leaped to the top of the Xbox Live online pile overtaking COD4.

GTA is still up there at number 3 and my personal favourite, Gears of War, is hanging on at number 4.

What really suprised me is that Battlefield is only sitting in the number 8 spot, I haven’t touched my COD4 since I got battlefield and I really expected it to be further up the pile as it really is a hugely entertaining game.

The full list is after the break.

While BF may not be storming up the charts, its obvious that it’s stolen a huge chunk of CoD4’s player base. It’s also still selling pretty strongly, so in time it may climb higher.

I don’t think it’ll ever be able to contend with the “Xmas granny sales” of CoD4, but it’s clear which game the “educated” gamer prefers. πŸ˜›

I would have thought that BF will be higher because most nights more than 50% of my online friends are playing this.

I am suprised GTA IV so far up. Even though so many people bought it i find the online really boring! Rather play COD4!!!

That chart is based number of unique logins. No distinction can be made between sp and mp. So it makes sense the gta 4 is up there because people are still playing the campaign.

Interesting how you defend your initial claim that it would “dethrone” COD4. Daddy came home, right? “The educated gamer”, huh?

To the contrary, it did exactly that. CoD4 is no longer king. I always said it was unlikely to outsell CoD4. It’s also only been on sale for 4 weeks.

Either way, it’s a much better game whether you like it or not πŸ˜›

    Yeah what he said πŸ˜‰

    I should have qualified that…
