MindJack

Walking around the show floor I stumbled across a game I haven’t heard or seen before.

Mindjack which is being distributed by Square Enix.

Amazingly for a title that hasn’t been publicised it was actually available to play on the floor and I gave it a quick whirl in what I think was co-op mode.

In Mindjack you play as an agent (he has a name I just don’t know what it is) and your special ability is to be able to take over NPC’s by floating over to them and jacking into their minds.

The idea being that say you get pinned down by 20 militia members,  you need to dive into cover and then take over one of the militia and turn him against his colleagues. Once he finally gets taken down you are ejected out of his body and need to find another willing victim to inhabit.

The game is far from ready to ship but it’s a novel idea and the graphics are pretty well rounded for an early title.

I wouldn’t say I am that excited about the game but it’s worth putting on your radar and seeing how it ends up.

If it helps you can play as one of the main characters virtually nude in a team deathmatch styled multiplayer game… all it does though is make everyone go after you so it’s not a recommended tactic.

Oh and in the cut scenes we saw a huge Gears of War styled Locust Gorilla that you have to try and take down… it’s a bad description but it’s the best I could come up with.

I played it on a PS3 but I expect it will arrive on the 360 at the same time.

The official Square Enix synopsis is as follows

“A new era. Sophisticated and complex technologies are now contributing to the advancements of mankind. However, the world’s governments are crumbling, new corrupt powers arise and conspiracies proliferate. The truth behind the proscribed technology could destroy the very core of humanity. Join a rogue team of agents as they fight for survival and entangle themselves deeper into the mystery.”
