It is the year 2007. The future has come, and the world has changed after The Great Blikseming that saw most of Bloemfontein destroyed after an ill-fated attempt to weaponise wooden mic singers leftover from various seasons of SA Idols. Only one gaming website still stands, having survived the cataclysm by wisely investing the 10/10 cash received for an Aliens: Colonial Marines review in a bomb-shelter. L.A.Z.Y.G.A.M.E.R stands ready to save the Earth,or cock things up yet again.

In Other News: The Humble Bundle goes classic, Reload with some former Call Of Duty devs, there’s a wolf in retail and you can now shoot Hitler in the nuts.

Here’s the news that we didn’t post today, because we were too busy being tacky. Tacky!

“Commander Shepherd, could you please explain how you shot Grunt in the buttocks?”
“Well, it is like this. We were embarking on this little nonsensical mission to pick up some Element Zero and I thought, meh… let’s bring the Cerberus secretary along for this one.”
    “And then?”
“Well, I was still busy checking my pistol when Agent Lawson, the Cerberus secretary, walked in front of me…”
“And that is the point where you shouted and I quote ‘Would you look at the ass on the secretary!” am I correct?”
“Sadly yes. It was also then that my pistol went off. Prematurely, I might add. I barely touched the thing.”

The Last of Us: Remastered Gets Beautiful New HD Screenshots, Graphics Detailed

by Allisa James (2 hours ago) 19 @ajames347

    PS4NEWSGALLERIES

The European Playstation Blog updated with new high quality screenshots of The Last of Us: Remastered, as well as brief synopsis on the graphics, improved framerate and slight changes to controls.

According to the blog, “lighting quality has received a boost, with improved shadow detail. Joel and Ellie’s in-game character models also look more detailed, sporting higher resolution textures that allowed me to see the fabric weave in Joel’s filthy flannel shirt.”

The author also noticed that due to graphical upgrade, he noticed details that was never noticed in the original PS3 version, such as blood dripping down Joel’s arm or rats running erratically through garbage covered area. The game running in 60 FPS also allows for a much increased responsiveness in controls, but if players choose to do so they can select 30 FPS instead. It also turns out that aiming and firing has been switched to the R2 and L2 buttons, although players can switch back to the L1/R1 configuration.

Check out the gallery below for all the new screenshots.

1080p/60 FPS in single player and multiplayer.

Texture maps are 4x more detailed. Shadow maps 2x.

    Higher resolution particle effects.

    Occlusion mapping on decals.

    No texture streaming.

    Longer draw distances, better LOD

    Expanded audio menu options.
