Incognita wallpaper1280x720 627x353

A little over a month ago, I told you about the new game from Klei, Incognita. The makers of Don’t Starve were making a turn-based tactical espionage game that felt a lot like Syndicate when we saw it then. Now, the game is going into paid Alpha and looks amazing.

I am seriously impressed with the art work and design in this game. Plus, they are using procedurally generated levels again, so every play through will be unique. Check out the alpha trailer:

Now, as with any alpha, it does not mean the game is complete by any stretch of the imagination. The developers explain:

Incognita is currently in ALPHA, which means that we are still in the early stages of development. At this time, we have the core mechanic of turn-based espionage, but the major features and content of the game are still being implemented. We expect the game to change significantly as we test and release new updates, and as much as we try to keep them out, we’re expecting bugs along the way.

Based on the way Klei approached Don’t Starve, this is an opportunity for those who also want to have an impact on the final game. Sure, you will be playing with bugs and problems, but you can also help them decide which features to expand upon and how to improve the game. It certainly looks like a very cool game. I’m just not sure I’m willing to pay $20 for any game in alpha. You can sign up and pay for the alpha here.

The visual style looks pretty similar to Shadowrun Returns.

    No.

No to paid Alpha. Not because I want to be mean, but because I have no real warranty on my product or even proof that it will become a viable product.

As a Developer type person, hell yes to paid alpha!

    Game looks pretty cool!

Sort of like Mission Impossible. Half expect to see Larry Mullins Jnr pop up from behind a trashcan
