The local gaming community needs your help soldier!

Yesterday we were contacted by an admin of a South African Steam community group (they also have a Facebook group) requesting our assistance in helping their cause. As we are always keen to fight the good fight, we were happy to do our bit, and now it’s your turn.

If you remember correctly, All COD: Black Ops dedicated servers will now have to be rented from Gameservers.com, and if that wasn’t already a kick in the gonads, South Africa is not currently on their lists, which means no local servers.

All you have to do is head over to this link http://www.gameservers.com/blackops/#suggest and use the suggest function at the bottom to suggest South Africa, which is already on the short list. It will take you less than a minute, so do it now!

Do your bit for the local gaming community today, let’s use our power to get South Africa noticed.

  1. Just a quick question, don’t you have to pay per month for access to the dedicated servers? In which case most local FPS gamers wont bother.

I voted 3 times. Do I get three heads? Like that dog in Harry Potter?

@Uncle: there will be a rental option open to all regardless, in which case the best hope is for someone like SGS, WAGE, iGame or IS to bulk rent some ranked servers and make it available to us locally through their means. getting our own datacenter from gameservers.com would be 1st prize tho, which is why we’re encouraging as many people to vote SA as possible.

@eXp: it’s pointless voting with multiple email addresses since their system only counts 1 vote per IP. so the idea would be to vote from different locations as well as different email addresses. ;P

Don’t get me wrong I voted multiple times, but just wondering on costs.

To be honest I have given up on the Call of Duty franchise on PC.

What scares me is that if you check that Steam group right now, it’s 3:37pm in the week and there are around 350 members busy playing games LOL
