Alright, I know that I harp on about this game, but it really is that good. It’s appealed to a massive amount of gamers across the world, and now game developers as a whole have given Playdead Studios’ debut game a very special nod of approval.

The annual Game Developers Choice Awards is similar to any other type of game awards, except that the people who vote for them are the people who, you know, actually make videogames. It’s safe to say that they probably know what they are talking about when it comes to things like design, technology, audio etc. which is convenient because those are the kinds of categories found in the GDCAs.

So how did LIMBO do? There are ten awards; LIMBO has been nominated for seven of those including Game of the Year. That’s more than Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect 2 were able to get. Full list of nominees coming up.

I can’t agree that Limbo is nominated for Best Visual Arts.. it may have looked good but when comparing to Red Dead, God of War or Mass Effect it was severely lacking…

The award it would seem is more aimed at the actual “art” part. A game can have awesome but the art direction isn’t all there or the other way around, like Limbo.

Wish I could play this game.

RDR for best writing! Brought emotions out in me I didn’t know a man is suppose to have…

If you post using your twitter or facebook account you can edit :), or just registering a Disqus account works as well

As for your point, yes I agree it’s more than just graphics but I can’t agree with giving it to a black and white short game.. it’s just not got enough depth in art to deserve it
