Well this is a turn up for the books, apparently Xbox South Africa has been monitoring our reaction to the Xbox Live pricing and while they are obviously defending their pricing they have announced some great launch specials that shouldn’t be ignored.
I also hope this is a sign of things to come as getting a great deal on Xbox Live just for buying a game I was buying anyway never goes amiss.
The deals according to Xbox South Africa are as follows
1. All 12 months subscriptions will get an additional 2 months free (at launch)
2. If you buy any Call of Duty game or bundle, you will be able to purchase a 14 month subscription (12months + 2months) at R399 (R200 off)
3. If you buy any Xbox console, you will be able to purchase a 14 month subscription (12months + 2months) at R399 (R200 off)
The only thing that confuses me about all of this is that they didn’t notify us of the offer… Facebook isn’t a suitable replacement for standard PR emails.

Well, they need approval from overseas right? This might’ve been the earliest they could’ve announced! And i’m sure they’re sending mails…

Send emails first, then Facebook. It feels far to much like someone trying to manage the media to me.

Any idea’s how number 3 works? If I buy a Xbox when can I activate that?

@RSAce: As soon as you get the R399 subscription. Im guessing theres MS will be a digital voucher or something you use when you try to activate your South African Gold service for the first time with your new Xbox. Im also guessing this only works if you purchase you sub online through Xbox Live as opposed to purchasing via retailers.

Interesting that it’s a Activision title and not a Microsoft one that has the code.
It makes the most sense seeing that COD is probably the bigger title, so i’m not complaining. Just surprised that it’s not Halo:Reach.

Its good business actually. If someone wants to buy Halo they can only buy it on 360 but if they want COD they can play it on PS3 and online for free. So in the end they entice a 360 purchase of COD that might have been a PS3 purchase for others with specials like this.

Sorry no its bad enough having to read the shit you type so no one wants to actually hear you talk online. Stick with your current shitty ISP provider so hopefully we dont have to listen to you talk online!!!

What do they mean by “any call of duty game of bundle”? Do they mean call of duty bundle, or a bundle of other games?
