VG247 had their secret spies out on the twitterverse (I died a little inside writing that) and have picked up on an exchange between the Gears of War head honcho, Cliff Bleszinski, and the Mortal Kombat boss, Ed Boon.
Apparently in response to a fan question Mr Boon replied that if he could have chosen a 360 exclusive character to balance out Kratos then he would have gone for none other than Marcus Fenix from Gears of War.
To which Cliff Bleszinski quickly replied
“Hit me up about that”
And thus starts a rumour that will prevail all the way until the next Mortal Kombat is released with or without Marcus Fenix.
So if Ed wants to save himself answering the same stupid question again and again over the years he should just create the Marcus Fenix model and release it into the MK universe already.
On a side note, this is how you milk a series to death I guess Epic’s been taking lessons from Capcom’s Street Fighter recently.
