Sony changed the face of online networks when they released PlayStation Plus onto the gaming world and taking everyone by surprise by giving all their subscribers free games every month. What’s more is that these games were pretty new and generally very good.
Microsoft then tried to get in on the act by giving their subscribers free games but they missed the point really as all their offerings were really old games that no one was interested in any more.
Well it seems like all the bad press their Games with Gold feature received has sunk in and Microsoft have upped their game considerably.
The 2 games that will be free to Xbox Live members in January are the highly rated Sleeping Dogs and Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.
Both of which were listed in our top 100 games of the generation recently and if you haven’t played them then there is absolutely no reason to not download these tomorrow.
What’s even better is that unlike PSN+ if you do cancel your Xbox Live membership then you can still continue playing the games. So go grab a 7 day card and download the games. Cheapest top quality games you are going to get this holiday season.

Like most things MS people had to pretty much scream complaints at them for years before anything was done… I still don’t understand why people support them.
