Miyamoto still trying to plug Wii Music

I guess you can’t blame the guy for doing his best to try and convince us all that Wii Music is really good but even he seems to be losing his excitement about the game now.

In a recent interview with Edge magazine he states

“I really don’t think that it will have the immediate and universal appeal around the world at all”

But having that said he is still convinced that when we get together with a bunch of friends we will enjoy it, as he says

“there is more to playing games than just playing by yourself”

The problem though is that this isn’t really a game, it’s a bad musical simulator and while it’s fun to pretend to be a RockStar or Guitar Hero it just isn’t fun to pretend to be an awesome flute player. It just doesn’t have that same kick.

Hopefully Nintendo realises this is  a dud and doesn’t end up trying to force it down our collective throats for the next 2 years, but don’t bet on it. I see it being bundled sooner rather than later.
