Modern Warfare 3 to have 32 player deathmatch

How does that song go?

“Anything you can do I can do better…

Well it seems to apply to the head to head between Battlefield 3 and MW3 at the moment with Battlefield recently announcing it’s deathmatch player limit is 24 players and now the news has arrived that Modern Warfare 3 will have 32 player deathmatch.

This hasn’t yet been officially announced by Activision but someone in America literally broke into the upcoming Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles and took the consoles for a spin.

The video has already been ripped off YouTube by Activision’s lawyers but not before the news of the 32 player deathmatch, and accompanying screenshot, hit the Internet.

Granted it’s possible that this 32 player game is only going to be available in LAN modes as it was built specifically for the XP tournament, but then again it would be a bad marketing move to make a 32 player map that people will love and then not release it into the wild.

The only other interesting thing in the video is that the current XP build of MW3 contains 13 multiplayer maps

  • Carbon
  • Coast
  • Dome
  • Exchange
  • Hardhat
  • Interchange
  • Lambeth
  • Meteora
  • Mogadishu
  • Paris
  • Plaza
  • Radar
  • Seatwon

And that’s it.. I still can’t believe someone actually broke into the place just to steal video footage. Now that’s hardcore- although it’s likely fake. Call of Duty isn’t quite known for its levels of literacy, but “A huge area for a great team work and for a nice game. Most compatible for Team Deathmatch and Bomb?” something about that just doesn’t sound right.
