EMS Now, a website for the manufacturing industry, has published an article about the new manufacturers of the PS3 and along with that they seem to have released the news that a new low-price ($399) PS3 is going to be hitting our shelves before Christmas.
Insiders in the sector said that Sony has cut the selling price of PS3 consoles, and, at the mean time, planned to launch low-price models, with ASUSTeK Computer Inc. and Hon Hai Precision to supply the models.
I applaud Sony for finally coming around to the fact that most people cannot afford the PS3 and the ones who can are still unsure about whether it is a good deal or not. However I just wish Sony would drop the Blu-Ray nonsense and give us a feature filled machine for $399, however it looks like they are going to drop things like integrated Wi-Fi, disc size and backwards compatibility instead.
