This new gameplay trailer for gritty, cyber-punk FPS Deus Ex is entitled “Three Ways to Playâ€. Those of you who played the previous Deus Ex titles will know that one of the main features of the game is the level of freedom it offers in tackling various missions.
A number of options are always available, and players are free to use all manner of cybernetically augmented gadgets to get things done. In the trailer (after the jump) you’ll see the same mission done in three different ways. Each playthrough makes use of either Aggressive, Stealth or Adaptive techniques.
It’ll be interesting to see whether or not this game grabs the attention of those who never played the first two games. Gameplay is certainly slower than today’s FPS titles, but that’s another staple of the Deus Ex franchise. Expect an emphasis on thought and planning rather than a guns-blazing-with-extended-snowmobile-chase-scenes-and-trillions-of-explosions type of game.
