NewDashboard

It’s been quite a while since the last major dashboard overhaul and while we all know a new one is coming with Kinect we don’t know what it looks like.

Well we didn’t, after the break there are 8 new shots of the dashboard and a video run through courtesy of PlayStationInformer… yeah ironic isn’t it.

Honestly the dashboard is exactly what was expected and all you will really notice is that all the icons are bigger to accommodate the fact that motion control isn’t quite as precise as analogue sticks and buttons.

Video…

The only thing confusing me here is that the screenshot shows your avatar using his hand to select the shirt while the video doesn’t do that… Here’s hoping your avatar is really interactive though as that adds a little bit of awesome to the dashboard.

The new dashboard looks good. It’s nice and clean, although the new logo intro reminds me of BP. I also hope that zune video is now integrated and no longer runs as a separate app that you have to first load up.

As for the new avatar design, “meh”. I guess the only plus is they no longer look as though they’d make paedophiles happy.

Anyone else notice the complete lack of the Friends tab?
