Nintendo dropped us a mail this morning to inform us that they are putting a little something together for Nintendo 3DS owners this week.

Want to make better use of your Nintendo 3DS’ features or also just meet and hang out with some fellow gamers? Well then you may want to join in for their first Streetpass event. Even better, if it works out well enough, they will start doing more.

Interested?

On Thursday, Nintendo 3DS owners can all get together for a bit of an informal gathering in Sandton Square, Johannesburg to meet other gamers, exchange friend codes and make some use of the Streetpass feature.

The mail went something like this:

We will be holding a very informal Streepass event at Sandton Square this Thursday, between 1 and 2 pm. We are trying to create a movement, and if this is successful, will be doing one a month. If you are free and would like to meet more N3DS users, then please join us (with your 3DS) at Sandton Square on Thursday!

So if you are in the area, stop by and check it out. It’s a little sad that it’s on a workday though, as I can see a lot of people not being able to make it, except for those who work in Sandton itself.

If you aren’t from South Africa but think that this is a cool idea, hook it up on your local forums or phone your local Nintendo agent/distributor and tell them to organize some events too.
