Geoff Heath, Industry veteran, the former Climax chairman, Activision Europe founder and current NCsoft man was named Officer of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. He was given the honour ‘for services to the Computer Game Industry’.

He moved into gaming during the nineteen-eighties, following a career in the music business. Through his gaming career, Heath aided in the establishment of Activision in Europe as its first European MD and then acted as an advisor for other American firms to do the same.

Heath then took on the role of a non-executive chairman at Climax Studios and in 2004 became head of NCsoft Europe. He also continues to hold various board positions at a number of game and tech companies.

Some earlier recipients of honours include Peter Molyneux, Ian Livingstone, David Gardner and Jane Cavanagh.
