Onechanbara Z2 is bananas (NSFW)

I like to think that we’re making strides in gaming, for characters who are more than walking fleshboards of cheap attraction and titillation. Characters who have personalities, flaws and ideas that we can relate to. Apparently, no one told Japan about this, because Onechanbara Z2 is flaunting enough skin to make a porn star blush.

First up, a quick bit of history. Onechanbara, or OneeChanbara to be exact, is a “series of action horror games developed by Tamsoft for D3 Publisher’s Simple 2000 series for the PlayStation 2 and later ported on Xbox 360,Wii, PSP, PS3, PS4 and cellular phones” according to the official wiki.

The title is a portmanteau of the Japanese words onee-chan (lit. “big sister”, but also a colloquialism for a young adult woman) and chanbara (“sword fighting”). Commonly spelled and pronounced incorrectly as “Onechanbara” (as in [wuhn] instead of [On]), due to the simplified English/U.S. release titles, which has become a synonymous alternative spelling variation.

The games are your usual hack ‘n slashers, as players control the cowgirl Aya and fights off hordes of the undead using the power of barely-legal semi-nudity. Aya happens to have several pals who accompany her, and are of course dressed in revealing outfits as well. Because fan service is the ultimate tool in the war against zombies.

The latest game continues that tradition of fighting undead flesh with ample amounts of skin, using combat forms and whatnot. Here’s a bunch of screens from AGB, to show you what I’m talking about:

And I wasn’t joking about the game being…bananas:

As I said, bananas like a Gwen Stefani song. And yes, there also happens to be a few films starring the strange cowgirl. Enjoy:

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
