Online PS3 Fight Turns in to Real Life Fight

As sensible gamers, when we have confrontations with other people during online games, we make derisive jokes or just mute and block the offending douchebag.

And then there are people with too much testosterone who take things far too seriously. Take for example Eric LaChapelle, who after an online fight succeeding a bit of PS3 multiplayer failed to do the sensible thing and walk away. Instead, he got in his car and drove to Cory Chalich, his online oopponent’s house to deliver a personal beating.

LaChapelle proceeded to “assault” the younger Chalich, who drew a knife in self-defense, causing the not-so-tough-now-are-you LaChapelle to flee the scene with his tail tucked firmly between his legs.

The fuzz apprehended the scrappy runaway just moments later. Both are now up for misdemeanours; LaPucelle was charged with third degree assault and Chalich was charged with second degree menacing. Second degree menacing? That’s an awesome sounding charge right there.

This really isn’t news, but it does raise two interesting questions; Firstly…what game do you think they were playing? And has anyone ever pissed you off so much online that you’ve contemplated “taking this outside” as it were?

Thank you fellow gamers for keeping the stereotype that gamers are freaks alive.

It’s not something you would want to brag about in the prison yard. Picture the scene – Huge, no-necked, scarred, tattooed inmate “So what you in for kid?”
    erm “second degree menacing”

Had it happened in the UK, I’d agree – but it all transpired stateside.

Some guys mouths are just too big for their own good, and i feel they deserve a physical beating. Virtual fight -> verbal fight -> physical fight.

Those bastards that spawncamp the entire map and then spam the votes when it’s a map they don’t like and still accuse players of camping when they get shot and try to issue a kick vote. Them I would gladly drive to they’re house and give em a proper kick vote in the groin.
