The next update for the PlayStation 3 is coming very soon, and unlike other updates which seem to waste your gaming time to fix something you don’t care about, this one actually does something. Whether its useful or not is up to you, of course.
First and foremostly, you will be able to watch 3D Blu-Ray discs, which will no doubt please Noelle Adams.
Secondly, there will be Facebook integration. In the words of the PlayStation Blog: “Developers will be able to create PS3 games that have more interaction with Facebook. Once compatible PS3 titles are available, PS3 users can choose to access public information on Facebook – including user name, profile, uploaded photos and friends list – to enhance their gameplay experience.”
Thirdly, and probably most importantly, PSN will now have a built-in grief-reporting function, so you can report users who send you nastily worded messages. Judging from the comments in the PlayStation Blog, it is a welcome addition.
