Project Omega

Lazygamer will be hosting our very first Dota 2 LAN tournament this month, here are some updates about the tournament entries and shoutcasting. And if you missed our post last week because you were to busy enjoying the long weekend, I’ll give you a little recap too.

Eight teams will compete for a share of a R10, 000 cash prize. Internet Solutions will provide us with a venue and bandwidth. There will be two brackets: Pro Bracket and Novice Bracket. The Pro Bracket is for competitive teams who are currently taking part in leagues and tournaments and the Novice Bracket’s for mixed teams made up of friends to have fun and get a taste of the competitive life. You can send your entries to yolanda@lazygamer.net with the following information:

  • Team name
  • Team Captain – the person responsible for the team.
  • Names of team members – full names and surnames. (This is important, don’t leave it out or your entry will not be valid.)
  • Steam ID’s
  • Bracket being registered for.

Date: 13 April 2013

Venue: The Campus, Le Mans Building, 57 Sloane Street, Bryanston

Some gamers have been asking about how the entries work and what will happen if the number of entries is too damn high? If we receive a big amount of entries, we’ll have some online qualifiers to determine who will compete at the event.

We are also looking for some shoutcasters for the finals that will be held that afternoon. If you are interested, email me at the above mentioned email address.

Teams should also take note that each team is allowed three substitutes; players who might fill in should a team member not be able to make it. Registrations close on Friday, 5 April.

The goal is to give competitive teams as well as gamers who play for fun a chance to compete and win some cash. Registrations from Pro teams who take advantage of the tournament by entering the Novice Bracket will not be accepted. So enter the correct bracket.
