The PS3’s sales figures for PAL territories are slowly starting to come in and Sony are smiling all the way to the bank.
The UK Launch managed to move 165,000 units which beat the Wii launch by 60 000 and the Xbox 360 launch by a whopping 95 000. Not to forget that the Wii and Xbox 360 where launched before christmas which is obviously a better time to launch.
What is even better for UK residents is that Sony managed to ship 220 000 units to the UK so if you want you can just go and get one today.
After all the drama of the non-event of the Australian launch their figures are not looking to bad either. Whilst not beating the Wii or Xbox 360 launches they still managed to move over 20 000 units.
As for South Africa’s figures unfortunately nothing has been released but there are unconfirmed rumours of 95% of our stock being moved in the last few days. We where also rumoured to have 5000 PS3’s so we are lagging badly behind Aus and the UK but at least we are moving the allocated units.
So are you suprised or did you never fall for the bad press Sony was receiving?
