PSA: Get Xbox Live Gold for cheap

XBL

I’ve been contemplating letting my 6 year-old Xbox Live subscription lapse – because I seldom play multiplayer and I use my PS3 for Netflix; but Takealot.com has made me reconsider – ‘cos today (and today only!) they’re selling Xbox Live subscriptions for really, really cheap.

As one of their daily deals, they’re shilling of year-long Xbox Live subscriptions for just R329. Remember, they’ll also carry through to the Xbox One and these things stack, so you could stock up on a few years worth.

You can pick it up cheap, here. Codes will be emailed and as far as I know, will work across all Live regions. MS points won’t though – but they’re busy being phased out anyway.

When did the subs go up by the way? Regular price is almost R400 now for a year?

I mean it used to be under R300 per year last time I purchased, now it is close to R400. Was just wondering when this increase happened.

Well I am looking at the sub prices on Evopoints, R375 for 1-year, or R389 for 13 months.

I know, and I’m one of them! It’s just so damn convenient to pay with a sub! But to have my lazy ass pay more is unforgiveable, surely it should actually be less?????? Maybe I can sub to Takelot or Evopoints for monthly codes and then they can just load it for me??? Like Que4u, but Sub4u? ????

Correct, but that’s if you pay through subscription.

That depends, its costs about $5 per month if you purchase a monthly sub. One year sub has been sub R400 for a long time. Always buy codes from online stores like EvoPoints and Mspoints.

The Steelseries mouse that they had on special was a “Typo” . had a guy in the office with us, that got a call stating the same after he placed his order, and that they were sorry..

Really? I am pretty sure with the CPA they have to give you what was advertised, even if a mistake on their side. My friend used to work for them, and they listed a Fender Guitar as R50, someone bought it, and they had to tell him it was a mistake. He took them to court. Not sure what happened though…

Surely his court fee’s would be more than a new Fender Guitar ???

Not if he wins. Will follow up and find out what happens. Often the company just pays them some money to go away and save face.

I’ve been using them for 10+ years already. Best e-commerce outfit by far in SA. Only 2 service problems during that time.
