Recent Spider-man games have, for the most part, been decidedly average – but Beenox’ third swing at the series looks pretty damned spectacular. For one thing, they’ve made the new film tie-in The Amazing Spider-man an open-world game – giving Spidey the ability to roam through Manhattan unfettered by linear constraints.
It’s an epilogue – so you won’t be replaying the movie, but rather a new story that continues where the celluloid left off. This new trailer’s got some gameplay – and it looks pretty damned fantastic, though it has got far too much “wub-wub” for my liking. those who’ve seen the game close-up say that Beenox has taken more than a few cues from Rocksteady’s Arkham games – and that’s not a bad thing. There’s no confirmed local release date for the game yet, but true believers should expect it towards the end of June on XBox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and PC.
Oh look! Iguana, who’s totally different to the Lizard.
