Oh dear. While Kinect Sports’ table tennis might be looking pretty good, other facets don’t appear quite as positive.

Rumour is that Milo and Kate, one of the first and most exciting demonstrations of the technology has been permanently shelved.

According to Kotaku’s sources Lionhead’s incredibly ambitious Project Milo, which has ping-ponged back and forth from being a mere internal tech demo to an eventual retail release has now been cancelled.

According to those same sources, the technology behind it will live on, and be integrated in to a Kinect-enabled game based on the Fable universe. As you know Fable 3 had its once touted Kinect-integration scrapped from launch, possibly being added in via a title update in the future.

Neither Microsoft or Lionhead have responded with anything concrete, but expect lots of “I told you so’s” from the many who believed it was all an elaborate bit of smoke and mirrors in the first place.

So another of Molyneux’s promises hasn’t come to fruition? Shocking.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on Kinect as a whole. Just broken promises.
