It’s very difficult to love EA. They’ve really made that an uphill battle for themselves over the years, with the super botched launch of serval games adding to that. But that’s all fine, because they’re making the one game that seemingly everyone wants. And now, we have a better idea as to when we’ll get our hands on it.

We’ve hardly seen anything of Star Wars Battlefront, but EA have revealed that the highly anticipated reboot will be available in Holiday 2015. That’s around this time next year, more or less. It’s not the festive season if you’re not running around killing Stormtroopers now is it?

The news was confirmed by EA on Twitter, after the publisher’s annual earnings call that I’m assuming would be extremely boring to sit in on.

During the same call, EA also revealed that Battlefield: Hardline, the really non-sensical cops and robbers spin-off, would launch on March 17th 2015. Battlefield 5 will presumably follow after that, but only at the end of 2016. A lot of people (myself include) were hoping for a bit of the game to be shown at E3 this year. There we’re slight glimpses here and there during that short little teaser, but nothing really substantial. Almost like a first date. Unless it’s one with Darryn.

I really do think DICE is the perfect studio for this game though, even with my reservations against EA and its publishing blunders. There does, however, seem to be a massive focus on making this game one that fans have been waiting for. And rightly so, considering it’s been years of waiting. Don’t toy with my heart, EA.
