From Software are really, really busy. They’re not only co-developing a new Steel Battalion with Capcom, they’re also hard at work on something they’re calling Project Dark. Little is known about the game at the moment, other than that it’s a dark fantasy action RPG, and it’s supposed to appeal to fans of the studio’s sleeper hit, Demons Souls.

A short trailer was shown of the game at Sony’s press event and seems to have demons as the main enemy-type. For Xbox 360 owners, it’s something to note that this time round, it’ll be available on your platform too – provided you’re not Japanese, as it’ll have PS3 exclusivity there. The game will be published by Namco-Bandai, who took European publishing duties for Demon’s Souls.

Let’s hope this ends up  being a worthy successor to Demons Souls and one of From’s good games; they’re an entirely hit and miss studio. Demon’s Souls was awesome, but Ninja Blade and Enchanted Arms weren’t.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
