The boy who stole $250 Million… and got away with it

Eurogamer has posted up a very interesting article on the story of Axel Gembe who infamously hacked his way into Valve’s internal network and downloaded the source code for Half Life 2 and causing over $250 million in damage.

It’s an incredible story and well worth the read and for me the most interesting part is that he pretty much walked away from it all scot free thanks to the German police not wanting him to fall into the FBI’s hands.

It could have ended so badly if he had just gotten on to that plane.
