The Walking Dead gets next gen release later this month

If Telltale’s The Walking Dead series proved anything, it’s that story really can be more important than gameplay – at least in my opinion. The narrative of both seasons was just so engaging. It made players really think about the toughest of choices, often leaving them wondering if they made the right one in the end. The games have been available on many platforms for a while now, and will finally be available on next generation consoles later this month.

Telltale announced that the first and second season of The Walking Dead will be released on the PS4 and Xbox One on October 21st. Season One will come bundled with the 400 days DLC which explores some of the characters who end up appearing in Season Two in some major roles or minor cameos. The game will also be coming to the Vita on November 4th, meaning you can take those tough choices with you wherever you go.

I do think it would have been nice of Telltale to bundle everything into one convenient package, but it doesn’t look like that is happening. Here’s the accolades trailer – which doesn’t have my glorious praise for some reason.

If you have a next gen console and have yet to play the games, there really is no excuse anymore. I really hate being the person to hype up stuff (it creates expectations which may never be met), but I highly recommend both seasons. They got me so emotionally attached and the choices I made, especially in the season 2 finale, are still with me to this day.

Yeah, I’m super keen to get stuck into Season 2. Season 1 left such a massive impression on me (and yeah, those choices are still with me!!). Just been waiting for Season 2 to complete… Time to get stuck in.

Season 2 was meh for me, even the climax was underwhelming… As you play season 2 you realize just how much you really miss playing as Lee.

How can it be a Spoiler, they clearly state in the trailer that you play as Clementine.

First season’s tragic ending left a longer impression on me. This one just made me shrug and go inky, pinky, ponky.

First of all the disc based game is costed at R600 according to BTgames site WHICH IS RIDICULOUS! Second of all why the hell not bundle Season one and two together?!?!?!

Screw them I’m not paying R600 for a game where I paid R500 for both seasons together. TTG fudged up BIG TIME!

Also the graphics is exactly the same as the Cheaper Vita version that is already out.

Nothing beats the retail price of that Angry Birds game tho. That was for the real dummies.

I finished both seasons on the Vita. PURE CLASS.
Another example how video games kick the shit out the TV counterparts.
