The Witcher 3 demonstration at Gamescom really blew me away. The game is highly anticipated, to the point where people may forget that it has a younger sibling in the works too. The Witcher: Battle Arena is a mobile MOBA from the same company set in the same universe, and it’s looking for beta testers.
I got some hands on time with the game, and it’s actually quite decent. Lack of movement speed aside, it works quite well on the tablet, and games are so quick that it makes perfect sense to have it on the mobile platform.
Sound like something you’d like to give a bash? You can apply for the beta right here. Strangely enough, the beta is limited to only those who have access to an Android device. There will be an iOS version too, there is just no beta for those Apple folk at this stage. Here’s what you can expect if you do meet the requirements (Witcher Battle Arena via Joystiq):
Upon being granted access to the event, selected participants will be given the possibility to playtest 8 heroes on two maps playable in Conquest Mode -The Arena and Korath Desert. Players will also have the opportunity to develop their player profiles in an RPG fashion, as well as help to test several other functionalities present in the full game coming later this year.
During my hands on time I was told that there would be a total of 18 heroes, with more being released in future. What do you think, is this something you’d be keen to try? I think it’s beginner friendly enough to warrant a go from just about anybody, but then again, I think any MOBA deserves love in some form or other.
