A recent trailer leaked online showing what purported to be the next game in the Need for Speed series. EA quickly confirmed it to be true, We’re getting another Need for Speed game. It’s not even six months since Criterion’s insanely fun Hot Pursuit hit shelves and it’s only a month since the release of Shift 2: Unleashed – still carrying the Need for Speed branding. The new one, subtitled “The Run,†seems to have some sort of story mode if the trailer’s anything to go by, possibly harkening back to the last NFS I played though, Most Wanted. According to the trailer it’s scheduled for a November 15th release.
That’d be 3 NFS games within a full year! People are often quick to criticise Activision for their annualised Call of Duty franchise, or sports games for their barely-different yearly iterations…but three games under the same header within a year? That’s milking. Still, the tension filled trailer is curiously intriguing – so if you’re a Need for Speed junkie, hit the jump!
