Ubisoft expect 3D to be big business by the end of next year

3D

Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, has been chatting to investors in a conference call and has given Ubisoft’s backing to the 3D revolution… however they don’t expect it to start properly until the end of next year at the earliest.

“I think we will see lots of bundles with 3D monitors… and they will be small sales in stores, in game stores,”

“But it will be very strong next year, at the end of next year, which means… November, December next year will normally be the time when we will start to see very good sales on those products.”

I have to say I am surprised at his confidence, that is unless he is talking specifically about the 3DS which I expect to do amazingly well in the market.

Bu then again he does state

“the goal is to make sure most of our high end games will use the 3D”

Which I would guess means this doesn’t relate only to the 3DS market, however I seriously don’t see normal 3D taking off until they can release TV’s that don’t require glasses and there is some saturation of 3D content in the market.

Is there any 3D content available in retail stores yet?
