Uncharted Movie Rumours Confirmed, Hearts Broken

SadFillion The Browncoats and Castillions rose, but have been shot in the face by Max Payne. If you’ve been following, most people – including Lazygamer and the man himself – wanted the role of Uncharted’s Nathan Drake to go to Nathan Fillion, star of the unfortunately short-lived, but excellent Firefly.

Queue tears and vitriolic outrage, because Mark Wahlberg has confirmed he’s nabbed the lead role in David O. Russell’s upcoming Uncharted movie adaptation.

The wooden actor also confirmed the rumour that Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro are to reunite for the film.

“That’s who he wants to write the parts for,” he said. “I talked to Pesci about it and I know David’s people have talked to De Niro. I’m obviously in whatever David wants to do, but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It’s not going to be the watered-down version, that’s for sure.”

I kinda like Wahlberg as an actor (He was fantastic in Departed), but he’s really no Nathan Drake. He just doesn’t seem to possess the swashbuckling smarmy charm required for the role. Right from the onset, it looks like this is going to be another typical Hollywood butchering of a videogame.

i agree, Wahlberg can’t act to save his life.
I doubt even De Niro and Pesci will be able to save it.

Hollywood does it for the lawlz n probably cos they think people will go Nathan who? Making movies for nerds alone does not = $$$

But making movies for the lowest common denominator = $$$$ therefore Wahlberg won, because he kind of resembles an 1980s action star… oddly he acts like one too.

Nathan Fillion is perfect for the part, seeing that I’m a professional at how this Hollywood politics work (read: i own all the Entourage boxsets), it all comes down to representation, and Marky Mark simply had the better agentmanager than Mr. Fillion…. its tragic.
