Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’s Special Edition isn’t so special

I love drooling over Collector’s Editions. Anything special that makes a game worth buying in physical form is cool with me. Figurines, art books, and even some cool fridge magnets can all make a game feel that little bit more special when purchased at retail. I was hoping for something cool for the Uncharted collection, but it’s just not that great.

Picking up Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection doesn’t just let you experience the Uncharted trilogy in remastered 1080p/60fps glory; you can also hop into the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta before anyone else. So, what’s in the special edition that’s worthwhile?

So, you get a steelbook, stickers and an art book? I’m not particularly impressed. You know what would have made an awesome Collector’s Edition addition? A scarf. or even some sexy cloth maps or or something. I’m not going to display the art book or steelbook anywhere, so it will sort of go to waste. But a figurine, or some nice textiles would certainly do a lot more.

Then again, this is all just nice stuff for a remaster. Maybe they’re saving the really cool goodies for the release of the new game. Here’s hoping, anyway.
