Uncharted Trophies in the wild

27 second read

The Uncharted: Drakes Fortune trophy update has been released.

The trophies are identical to the in game medals which would lead you to believe that they will be retroactively applied to your current game.

Unfortunately this is not the case and you are going to have to complete the game again to get all your trophies. But if you want to up your trophy count this game isn’t the worst one to have to play again.

The are not allowing retroactive trophies to stop people from downloading save games and cheating the system. Whcih is good.

I’ve heard that this is a problem with the 360’s achievments system. Is it really problem, does it happen a lot?

I know it exists and that Microsoft often crack down on it but I have no idea how popular it is.

Personally I think it is incredibly sad, it’s also quite a bad excuse for not retroactivelly handing out trophies. I think it’s got a lot more to do with wanting you to play the game again.

I’m enjoying going through some of the games again, and i’m looking forward to playing Uncharted again. Doing it retroactively would have been nice but to sole the cheating problem i think it’s worth it. I know that WarHawk will offer some trophies retroactively but that’s because you can’t cheat with a save game on it as it’s all online.

    I cannot wait for Bioshock.

Uncharted was one of the best games last year, it will be a pleasure to play thru it again.

on the 360 your save game is bound to your gamertag. So downloading saves involves doing some basic file hacking. One of the updates prevented this from happening.

They’ve also been resetting cheater’s gamerscores to 0. (It happened to the world #1 who was a cheater)
