So the latest hardware and software sales are in from the States and very little has changed.
In the next gen (+PS2) comparison we have
Wii – 93,253 (3.5m Total)
PS2 – 50,981 (44.2m Total)
Xbox 360 – 44,083 (6.4m Total)
PS3 – 17,902 (1.5m Total)
So in the next-gen race the 360 still has the best install base but will most probably be overtaken early next year in Nintendo can ramp up production.
The PS3 is floundering badly… Outsold by the Wii 5:1 and by the 360 3:1…
The PS3 is still doing well but Sony has to realise that is a losing game…
However when it comes to Software the two guys from Redmond are even happier… These are the weekly sales
Xbox 360 – 622,994
Wii – 580,147
PS3 – 220,218
The 360 has by far the best attachment rate in the business and the PS3 is just plain struggling to do anything in the US…..

The PS3 doesn’t sell that many attachments because most of the stuff is already built in.

Max the attachment rate I am talking about is the number of games sold per console.
The average Xbox 360 owner has 8 games so the Xbox 360 has an 8:1 attachment rate.
The PS3 had a <1:1 attachment rate the last time the figures where made public.
