Suck at games? Vanquish might be the game for you.

Vanquish, the stylish, frantic, and quite frankly, insane shooter from Platinum Games will be getting a new difficulty mode, known as “Casual Auto”. Like the developer’s last game, Bayonetta, Vanquish will still be fun for people who’re less adept with a controller.

“Before we started work on it, I can’t say that I had high hopes; however, once we got it up and running, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was wrong,” said director Shinji Mikami on the official blog.

“Once you get your target on the enemy, the rest is easy as pie. I’m sure saying it that way makes it sound totally uninteresting, but when you actually give it a shot, the tempo it gives the game play will make you jump up and say, ‘Woohoo!’”

For those who are able to flex their gaming muscles, there’s “God Hard” mode.  “This mode is only for the chosen few (you can’t select it on your first play through). If you are a bit of a masochist, I think you will have a good time. It is something for our fans to look forward to,” said Mikami.

Vanquish will release on Ps3 and Xbox 360 in October.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
