Far Cry 4 is absolutely bonkers – perhaps even moreso than the previous entry, which featured the most mentally unstable antagonist I’ve ever seen. Far Cry 4 ups the ante with the various different flavours of destruction you can cause with all sorts of weapons and wildlife. Like monkeys, for example. You can cause chaos with monkeys, especially if you pre-order.
If you want to lock down your ticket to the Himalayas early, Far Cry 4 has some goodies waiting for you. Just like most pre-order incentives, Far Cry 4 will reward fans with some extra mission, additional monkey madness and a really massive harpoon gun that won’t be used as the manual suggests.
Monkeys will still be part of the main, vanilla Far Cry 4 experience. The pre-order incentive just adds to their numbers apparently, allowing you to flood the streets with more apes than even Darwin would be able to handle. I’m pretty sure they’re going to be as destructive as any other creature in Kryat. I mean, have you ever left a window open while away on holiday in a monkey-filled area? Savagery, I tell you.
The Impaler will also be unlocked from the start. A massive, over-powered harpoon gun that is pretty much capable of doing anything. Just look at how it tears that poor helicopter a new one. I’m not sure that’s entirely possible, but man does it make for a fun game.
Far Cry 4 launches on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC come November 18th, and it looks like one of this year’s finest games.
