The Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide Schluesselschloss and Last Stand DLC is out!

Warhammer End Times - Varmantide

I’ve not yet played Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide, but by all means, I should’ve by now. The game looks like the love child of Left 4 Dead, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, and Killing Floor – which basically means it’s guaranteed to be all sorts of fun.

It must be, because I have a friend who won’t shut up about it. He keeps asking me whether I’ve bought it or not. No, I haven’t damn it. THERE’S JUST TOO MUCH PRESSURE NOW!

Anyways, mental breakdown aside, if you already own Vermintide, and are looking for more rats to murder, today just so happens to be your lucky day. The game has just received two bits of DLC – one paid, and one free (via VG247).

Just try to say that name, I dare you. Shloo-sell-shloss? Shlay-sells-ch-loss? Skloo-essel-kloss? I DON’T KNOW! Whatever it is, it’s the paid DLC for Vermintide. It’ll cost R35:

Trapped in the fortress of Schluesselschloss, our heroes are forced into an inevitable stand-off against Skaven hordes. With no hope of escape, how long can they withstand before they finally fall?

Schluesselschloss unlocks The Fall, a stunning new map for the The Last Stand game mode. Set outside Ubersreik, the fortress of Schluesselschloss guards the city and is perched on top of the roaring waters of the Teufel river. If it wasn’t for the oncoming hordes of Skaven, it would seem like an idyllic destination.

What’s nice about this DLC is that you don’t actually need to own it to play it. If a friend has purchased it, you can join their game and defend Schluesselschloss for free!

Last Stand

The Last Stand DLC is the free DLC and, well, is basically what its name implies. Here’s an overview:

The Skaven are attacking in large numbers and Ubersreik stands undefended. The only thing standing between total defeat or glorious victory is your ability to survive against countless waves of the Skaven horde.

Last Stand is a Survival game mode with the goal of defending your position on a smaller map. Enemies will come in “waves” and increase in both difficulty and tactical strength for each wave.

And there you have it! DLC for everybody, both rich and poor. Will you be grabbing either or both?

Also, should I be playing Vermintide? It does genuinely look like a lot of fun!
