The last game we got from Warner-owned Monolith was the not terrible F.E.A.R 2, sequel to their 2005 horror hit. they pawned off development duties on the third game to MechAssualt developers Day 1 Studios. This generation we’ve also seen some grisly output from Monolith in the SEGA published Condemned games. They’re set to reveal a new game – probably at E3.

What could it be?

Speaking about her scheduled appointment to appear at Devlop’s annual conference in July, Warner Bros. Seattle head Laura Fryer teased with “by conference time we should also be able to talk about the latest game from the creative team behind No One Lives Forever and F.E.A.R., and what we’ve learned along the way.”

While most people seem to be clamouring for a new Condemned game – and in all likelihood that’s exactly what’s coming – the one Monolith property I’d stab people in the face for would be the unrelentingly inventive 60’s spy spoof No One Lives Forever. It’s been nearly ten years since gamers were treated to the stylistic period humour of the delightful UNITY agent Cate Archer – and it’s bloody well time she returned. It’s a pity that it probably won’t happen; there’s not too much market for many comedy games anymore.

Still, I’ll be tightly holding my thumbs just in case.
