Watch dogs season pass

As you guys know, I am not all that pleased when games tout their DLC before the original product is even released. Can we at least pretend that this was additional content that publishers decided to tack on after the game’s success? New details on the season pass have released into the wild, check them out.

Thanks to the good people of VG247, we have this Google cache link of a subsequently removed GameStop listing. According to the site, the Season Pass will cost $20 and be released 27 May 2014 – at that price, you will be getting a 30% savings over buying each piece separately. It took the crew some math debate, but it seems that the DLC individually would cost about $28-30 if purchased separately, so you do save about R100 in the process. What do you get for the season pass?

I was excited for Watch Dogs. I really like the stealth elements, and the hacking, in an open world sandbox where you can decide if you’re a force for good or evil. Unfortunately, there just hasn’t been anything lately to get me back on the hype train. Yes, I still want to play this game, but it just isn’t as urgent as it once was. Let’s hope that Ubisoft does something to win me over before the game launches.

Anyone else wish there were more games made instead of DLC added to existing games?

      I concur!

I don’t ever buy any DLC. Except for Fight Knight Champion Bare Knuckles mode. That was awesome!

I have to admit I have fallen to DLC, but right after that realized that I just spent money on close to nothing and it costing close to the amount the game did. This was for Borderlands 2.

        Lesson learned.

That said I think Assassins Creed does it well. In no way do I feel like I am missing out without the DLC. Make the DLC vanity items and get the devs to work on the next title.

Also how is it that NO ONE has made a Star Wars game yet?!?! (This is a random rant that just came to mind.) o/

          lol

If you want to know “waste of money” check out any of the DLC for the Forza series. I love that series to the point of obsession but they charge up to R55 for ONE CAR. ONE. Arrrrgh

Hahahaha! I just avoid games like that… I try to minimize my game spending (says the man that spent $65 on a Star Citizen package not 4 days ago xD )

Totally agree. It’s nice when your favourite game gets some DLC… But I’d much prefer a ‘complete and unabridged’ version of a game be released, instead of the game plus 61,000 bits and pieces of DLC (or what most publishers like to call “Game of the Year” editions… To me they’re just what the game shoulda been from the get-go).

I love a GOTY edition to be honest, BUT it means I need to wait at least a year just to buy a version of the game that is complete.

I miss buying the game and playing and then having that feeling of completion.

For me, the hype train for this game has left, derailed, burst into flames, and then landed in a river.

At least with the burning train the homeless people will have somewhere to warm their hands and can use it as shelter after the flames have died.

Certain DLc’s make sense to do beforehand, especially those games that I will not play again. Good example was AC4 some of the DLC’s I liked was not force to buy them but wanted the value add. But yes it is a money making thing at the end should be part of the original game

They are still unlocked, but now only with credit cards! I think this is because the kids that use to sit hours unlocking characters are now all grown up and have credit cards to unlock them instead of time O_o

That’s why I’ll happily wait a year after release before actually considering buying these new games, there will be more DLC after release too. I prefer playing it all at once.

🙁 Just after kissing & making up & being inducted in the HOF too.

And to nitpick their article, his real name actually is Warrior. He had it legally changed.

Also I may be wrong, but Hogan and the Warrior were never mortal enemies, where they?

I don’t think so. It was more a rivalry because they were both very popular at the time.

As a sign of respect to the gamers of the world the Collector edition of games should contain the DLC for free at least me think. Those guys pay thousands of rand but still need to pay extra for the DLC.

I gotta make plans to pre order from kalahari quickly now , I just don’t get why the PC version shot up on BT’s end the RRP is supposed to be R499 , I miss the days when you could pre order a new game for around R340 on PC, seems like where one could pre order a bunch games and end up paying less than a console copy has now turned into only being able to pre order a select few and hope that the rest drops during Christmas or that it doesn’t disapear from shelves SC Blacklist and Metro Last Light for example are hard to find and still at their day one price.

I think it’s irresponsible to have dlc planned from the beginning ( cash cow mentality ) it’s fine say if , after 3 months of said product they come back and say , this is some dlc they had worked on for last 3 months , herd player feedback and are now looking into player feed back and testing some new ideas

In other words , if u buy the game but not the dlc u are paying for the dlc by buying the game , your 600 went both to the creation of said content and of dlc content , and unless u buy the dlc that u “paid” for u are paying for the dlc u can not access but paid for .

    Makes sense ?

They making double profits on the dlc if u ask me
