Watch Red Dead Redemption 2’s first trailer right here at 5PM

2 min read

Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially coming next year (well, we hope), and Rockstar have been masterfully whetting our appetites for their latest title throughout the week. A logo colour change on Sunday was followed by a more direct Red Dead tease on Monday, with Rockstar formally announcing the sequel on Tuesday. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the first look at it though, which is set to happen a little later today.

So bookmark this page. Bookmark it now. Go ahead. I’m watching you. Drag that mouse and hit the little bookmark button up top. Because when the trailer goes live at exactly 5pm local time today, we’ll have it right up here, for your viewing pleasure.

What’s it going to be about? Who knows! From past Rockstar experiences, we’re unlikely to get a clear picture of who we’re playing as, what the story is about or anything really specific. Grand Theft Auto V’s first trailer flew by Los Santos, giving brief glimpses into Rockstar’s open-world with a slight tease of one of the three protagonists. Given that the game is a year out, Red Dead Redemption 2’s trailer is likely to follow suit.

That’s still incredibly exciting though, because we’ll get to see when the game is set, and if it’s really going to revisit some of the locales of the first Redemption. Speculation will have you believe that this is aiming to be a prequel to John Marston’s story, with the seven figures in the teaser image perhaps pertaining to his former gang. I’d like to think that you’re maybe going up against seven notorious outlaws as a brand new character, but who knows if Rockstar will follow either route.

Either way, we’ll know a little more a little later today. And I for one cannot wait to see it.
