Uh oh! Wii Fit has gotten a taste of the western world it seems, enter the controversy.
A report on Destructoid.com is saying that a young UK girl was left “traumatized” after Wii Fit told her that she was overweight.
“My [relative] came round this weekend and we let her play on our Wii Fit,”
“We have all laughed and joked about being told that we’re fat and need to lose weight but I was gobsmacked when it told her that she is overweight.”
“I know it is just a game but seriously we already have to worry about young girls starving themselves to look like the magazine models and now we have a game that tells them they’re fat,”
Apparently the girl was only ten and was at what is considered to be a healthy weight, that doesn’t stop the sensation you get from being dissed by a machine though. According to the person quoted above, it took quite a lot of time to convince the girl that she didn’t have a weight problem.
Just wait until the Wii Fit accessory gets into thousands of Americans’ homes and is trampled on by housewives nationwide, then, and only then, will we see who truly suffers. We can only hope that machines truly don’t feel pain.

 [Ed] I have to agree with this but it seems to be a setting on the Wii somewhere. I used the Wii Fit on a friends Wii and it told me I was obese. I moved it over to my Wii and I was suddenly ideal. His Wii was set to the UK region and mine is local.

when u start off i think it asks your age and height and weight and by that it calculates wheither or not you are FAT!!
